چکیده

The goal of this work is to develop a collaborative communication system of spatial perceptions for vision-based multirobot systems using qualitative spatial reasoning, where the representation of the domain is built upon the perspective of the Elevated Oriented Point Algebra (EOPRA) and the reasoning itself is made by a combination between the Oriented Point Algebra (OPRA) and a quantitative triangulation. The motivation of using qualitative information is to obtain a level of abstraction closer to the human categorisation of space and, also, to have a more effective way of interaction between robots and humans. Results allowed us to conclude that the method proposed is an effective way to address the high-level communication between only-robots agents or between robots and humans by using some spatial prepositions.

A Conceptual Model for Human-Robot Collaborative Spatial Navigation

This paper describes our work on developing effective, efficient and user-friendly interaction between a human operator and a mobile robot on performing spatial navigation tasks. In order to solve the spatially related communication problems caused by the disparity between human mental representation about spatial environments and that of a mobile robot, a qualitative spatial knowledge based fo...

Optimal Trajectory Planning of a Mobile Robot with Spatial Manipulator For Spatial Obstacle Avoidance

Mobile robots that consist of a mobile platform with one or many manipulators mounted on it are of great interest in a number of applications. Combination of platform and manipulator causes robot operates in extended work space. The analysis of these systems includes kinematics redundancy that makes more complicated problem. However, it gives more feasibility to robotic systems because of the e...

Multi-Hypothesis Topological Mapping Using Qualitative Spatial Reasoning

We describe a multi-hypothesis mapping system for mobile robots that learns graph-based topological representations. Our approach exploits direction information and the assumption of planarity to prune the space of possible map hypotheses. Qualitative spatial reasoning is used to check satisfiability of individual hypotheses. We evaluate the effects of absolute and relative direction informatio...

Perceptions of success of a local UK public health collaborative†

Summary Successful public health initiatives require multi-sector collaboration. AVONet was a UK collaborative developed to provide evidence-based strategies for active ageing. This study explored the success of AVONet in the achievement of its objectives as perceived by all partners. A convergent parallel mixed-methods design was employed, utilizing a quantitative survey and qualitative semi-s...

A Collaborative Multi-Agent Framework for Internet-Based Teleoperation Systems

This paper presents a conceptual model of an agent (called Collaborator Agent) intended to design collaborative software architectures based on multi-agent systems. The authors’ model combines astutely two research areas: Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) and Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). The particularity of their approach is the division of the collaborative process into three spaces ac...
